KCR In Lok Sabha Elections: Competing From Which Constituency?

BRS party suffered defeat in the Telangana assembly elections; it got only 39 seats. In this election, KCR contested from Gajwel and Kamareddy. But he was successful only in Gajwel. BRS cannot form the government, and Congress is making the required arrangements as they have the majority. Now, there is a piece of news that KCR has made an interesting decision.

It seems that BRS chief KCR will contest from the Medak parliamentary seat. KCR, who continued as CM for ten years, has lost his deal. So he will hand over the state’s affairs to BRS leaders Harish Rao and KTR and stand in the Lok Sabha ring. After the formation of Telangana, KCR contested as MP from Medak and MLA from Gajwel in the 2014 elections. He won in both places.

As Medak MP, he won against Congress candidate P Shravan Kumar Reddy with a majority of 3,97,029 votes. After that, he resigned from the post of Medak MP, continued as Gajwel MLA and took charge as Chief Minister. In the subsequent by-election, Prabhakar Reddy contested as a TRS candidate from the Medak seat and won against his nearest rival, Gali Anil Kumar.

BRS has been winning the Medak MP seat since 2009. Vijayashanthi won in 2009, KCR in 2014, and Kota Prabhakar Reddy won in the by-election of the same year. Newcomer Prabhakar Reddy won the 2019 parliamentary elections.

On the other hand, the debate is going on as to who will be the leader of the LP for the BRS, which has won 39 seats. The argument that it can be given to KTR or Harish Rao is being heard strongly. However, beyond expectations, there is also a discussion that this post may be given to Kadiyam Srihari, MLA of Station Ghanpur, who is a senior politician and has immense experience.
