While 4,798 nominations were filed across the state, 606 nominations were rejected. After the screening, 2,898 candidates are now going to be in the race.

EC has announced the list of candidates in the competition after the Returning Officers (ROs) process of scrutiny is over. In this context, 114 candidates are contesting in Gajwel, where CM KCR is contesting. This is the highest number of candidates for any seat in the state. After that Medchal (67), Kamareddy (58) where KCR is contesting, LB Nagar (50), Kodangal (15) where Revanth Reddy is contesting, and Balkonda (9) are the next highest nominated seats. Since there are numerous candidates (114) in the contest in Gajwel, the constituency of CM KCR, it does not look like an easy seat to win for BRS. Additionally, Etela Rajender from BJP and former MLA Thumkunta Narsa Reddy from Congress are contesting for this position. With this, it seems that the pink boss is sharpening his strategies to win the election. On the other hand, there are 58 candidates in Kamareddy, another seat that KCR is contesting. According to field-level surveys, it is reported that favourable winds are blowing for Congress here. In addition, TPCC chief Revanth Reddy is contesting for this position on behalf of Congress. It is said that the chances of KCR winning here too are difficult.

Nevertheless, there is a possibility of withdrawal of nominations till Wednesday. Hence, there will be more clarity on the number of candidates in the election ring tomorrow evening. Let’s wait and see how many people will finally be in the election ring.
