Paleru Seat: Who Benefits From CPM Tammineni’s Nomination?

The heat of the elections in Telangana is growing every minute. The atmosphere is getting more and more interesting with nominations, campaigns, criticisms and counters of politicians. Especially, if we look at the politics in Khammam district, we can see new things popping up from time to time. The Paleru Assembly seat is grabbing the attention of the whole state towards itself. The politics here are taking a new turn every day and both the leaders and the people seem to be very intrigued.

Recently, CPM State Secretary Tammineni Veerbhadram entered the ring from Paleru’s seat, so there is more interest. Earlier YSRTP President YS Sharmila announced that she will contest here. Appropriate arrangements had also been made locally. But as things didn’t turn out as expected, she decided to enter the field in alliance with Congress. Even that did not work, so everyone thought that YSRTP would compete alone. But later, she announced that she was withdrawing from the competition. She also clarified that her support will be with Congress.

Another leader, Thummala Nageswara Rao, previously served as an MLA here on behalf of BRS. However, BRS chief KCR gave him a shock whereas Thummala thought that he would get the Paleru seat from the beginning. After the seat went to sitting MLA Kandala, he joined the Congress fold. Apart from the fact that he won’t be able to get the Congress leadership, Khammam seat has been allotted to him.

Meanwhile, Tammineni Veerabhadram is also contesting in these elections from Paleru. Previously, he helped the ruling BRS in winning the Munugodu by-elections. But, KCR shocked the left parties who thought they would get seats during the assembly elections. With this, both parties made efforts to be friends with Congress. While the alliance of CPI has been finalized by Congress, CPM is preparing for a lone battle. In this regard, 17 candidates were also released by the party’s state secretary Tammineni Veerbhadram.

And who will benefit from CPM contesting elections? Who will suffer casualties? These are the questions being discussed vigorously. Additionally, CPM has quite a bit of a vote bank in Paleru. Even if the party does not have enough power to win the election, it has the power to influence the winning process. The ruling BRS party seems to be the benefactor of Tammineni contesting from Paleru. People on the ground are making this conclusion now. Similarly, political analysts are also opining that CPM is contesting these elections by colluding with the BRS party. As for us, let’s wait and see what the effect of CPM is going to be in the election.
