Political Turbulence in Nalgonda as Congress Triumphs in Municipal Politics

The Congress party successfully ousted Municipal Chairman Saidireddy in a no-confidence motion held in Nalgonda municipality on Monday. During the voting under the district collector, the Congress party secured 41 votes in its favor, while BRS received 5 votes. One councilor abstained, and another did not vote. The motion of no confidence was initiated by 15 BRS councilors who had recently joined the Congress party.

Saidireddy responded by asserting that if there were allegations of corruption, a no-confidence motion should be passed. He claimed that, in collaboration with then MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy and then minister Jagadish Reddy, the municipality witnessed substantial development involving hundreds of crores over four years. Saidireddy is urging the Collector to disqualify the councilors who, in his view, have conspired against their own party.
