Politics Over Rythu Bandhu: What Are Leaders Saying?

Telangana elections are just two days away. The Election Commission’s decision on Rythu Bandhu has become a hot topic in the state. Farmers were disappointed when the EC, which had given permission to give Rythu Bandhu funds less than 2 days ago, suddenly withdrew the permission. However, the Election Commission clearly mentioned the reason for this blockade in its orders. Recently, as part of the election campaign, Minister Harish Rao commented on the issue of Rythu Bandhu money. Taking these comments into consideration, they said that they are denying permission to Rythu Bandhu disbursal in the context of violation of EC rules. Leaders of Congress and BJP along with the ruling party reacted on this matter.

Why Didn’t They Give Rythu Bandhu Before Election Notification?

Union Minister Kishan Reddy said that the Rythubandhu scheme can be given before the election notification. He said that there was no sincerity towards the farmers and asked what would have happened if the farmers had been given 15 days earlier. He fumed that BRS and Congress parties are playing drama together in the Rythu Bandhu issue. He recalled the past that Rythu Bandhu dramas were also played during the Huzurabad elections by making NGOs file complaints.

‘Why have you waited so long?’

CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka questioned that CM KCR knows that Rythu Bandhu cannot be given if the election notification is received and why Rythu Bandhu funds were not given before the election notification. They want to say that KCR is cheating the farmers and wait till notification. He said that if Rythu Bandhu had released the funds before the notification, the money would have been deposited in the farmers’ accounts. They said that they did not want to stop the farmers’ funds, and asked how the BRS government could not help but throw mud at their party.

Minister Harish Rao said that the Congress, which stopped the distribution of Rythu Bandhu, should be killed with a vote. He became angry that it was Congress leaders who complained about Rythu Bandhu to the EC. Harish expressed his anger that they didn’t even think twice before blocking food from the farmers’ mouths. He said that their bond with the Telangana farmers is not a bond of vote, but a bond of blood. The election commission stopped Rythu Bandhu due to the complaint of Congress leaders, do you want Rythu Bandhu to stop? People should think and vote said Harish Rao.
