TDP Flags Fluttering

TDP did not contest the Telangana assembly elections. However, the party’s flags were seen at the Congress victory celebrations on Sunday. During these celebrations, TDP supporters participated in the rally along with Congress workers holding party flags. It is known that Revanth Reddy was in TDP before joining Congress. It is in this background that some people think that some people have made a fuss with the party flags. Meanwhile, earlier in the 2018 Telangana assembly election, TDP which contested in alliance with Congress suffered a heavy defeat.

BRS Victory in Kukatpally

Many voters from Andhra Pradesh settled in Hyderabad as well as other parts of Telangana. But there are reports that the traditional supporters of TDP, including these voters, have voted for Congress this time. All the Congress candidates should win if the settler-majority votes are cast for them. But none of the Congress candidates were successful in Greater Hyderabad. Political analysts think that if their community is strong then how did BRS candidates win in Kukatpally and Serilingampally? In Kukatpally alone, the BRS candidate won with a majority of 70,000. It seems that the TDP flags were waved in the rally only to mislead people. This makes it clear that TDP has nothing to do with the success of the Congress party in Telangana.

Ponguleti and Thummala are strong leaders

In Khammam, Ponguleti and Thummala won with a huge majority. Mainly due to the lack of strength of the BRS party in this district, the candidates of that party suffered defeat. It seems that the voters have favoured the Congress party as it has been a stronghold of the Congress party since the beginning and there is dissatisfaction with the BRS sitting MLAs. Along with this, strong leaders like Ponguleti and Thummala left the BRS party and joined the Congress, which gave the party an opportunity to win more seats in this joint district. Nevertheless, many political analysts made it clear that it is the TDP had no role in the victory of Congress in Telangana.
