Telangana BCs With Congress? People Not Trusting BJP?
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has promised as part of his visit to Telangana that a BC candidate will be made CM if they come to power this time. However, the people of Telangana do not seem to trust that party. Because the CMs in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, where the BJP is in power, are not BCs, this statement is treated with suspicion. Analysts are predicting that this is all an election stunt and BJP has made this plan to win back BCs in Telangana.
BJP thinks that it can come to power if it attracts the majority BCs in Telangana. However, political analysts say that people are not ready to fall into BJP’s trap. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi announced that if the Congress comes to power, they will do a caste census. All the people seem to have faith in him. Because the caste census has already been taken up in the areas where Congress is in power, it has created a belief among the public that the party will stand by its promise.
It is against this background that analysts are predicting the Congress party will come to power in Telangana, just as the surveys are pointing out. It is said that BJP leaders are making false promises that they will make a BC CM only because they feel they will not be coming to power anyway. BJP got only one seat in Telangana in 2018. Even now in Telangana, the party is not really visible and has a chance of winning only 5 seats in this election. Analysts say that this time Congress will definitely form the government with the highest majority as the party is creating waves in Telangana.
Similarly, people feel that BJP’s BC CM promise is fake. The party gave the promise because there was no chance of winning in Telangana anyway, people are saying. They are leaning towards the word of caste census given by Congress. In Telangana, people are suggesting that first a BC should be made CM where the BJP is in power already if they want people to believe in BJP.
