Telangana Congress Second List Ready! May Release Anytime Soon

In Telangana, the heat of Assembly elections is on. The parties are entering the ring with neck-and-neck strategies. After the release of their first list, Congress is now working on the release of their second list of candidates. They are setting the stage to announce 45 more names. They are prioritising those who are rejoining the party as well as new joiners, in this list. It seems that they will also finalise the seats for the left parties. There is excitement in the party over this list.

Reportedly, they are making last-minute changes to seat allotments for those who have left the party and are re-entering. The second list will have the names of 45 Congress candidates along with the four seats allotted to CPI and CPM.

The party leaders say that the screening committee has made efforts to allocate seats to candidates who can definitely win their constituency. Congress has taken note of the dissatisfaction in some places after announcing the candidates for 55 seats in the first list. Consequently, they are taking precautionary measures to prevent such a situation from arising after the second list.

A meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) will be held on Friday. CEC will finalize the selection of candidates in this meeting. It seems likely that all the seats belonging to the Khammam district will be announced with this list. However, it seems that instead of the entire list, up to 15 positions are likely to be announced in the final list. Key decisions on the candidates will be taken in today’s meeting. As two or three candidates per seat are competing in 17 constituencies of the state, Congress will select one and call the rest to Delhi for further negotiations.

It seems that the names of Thummala Nageswara Rao from Khammam, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy from Paleru and Rangareddy DCCB Chairman Manohar Reddy from Tandur have been finalized in the second phase list. It is reported that the Maheshwaram seat has been finalized for former MLA KLR. For former MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud, the LB Nagar seat seems certain just as he wanted. Although it seems that Congress is leaning towards Patel Ramesh Reddy from Suryapet, senior leader Damodar Reddy got a call from Delhi. It is said that there is a possibility of Neelam Madhu in Patancheru. In Khammam district, for Yellandu, Ashwaraopeta and Pinapaka, the Congress is leaning towards the candidates suggested by Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.
