The Extraordinary Rise Of Revanth Reddy: An Intriguing And Inspiring Journey

Revanth Reddy is the person who took the reins of the Telangana Congress at a time when they thought it was lost and brought it back to power today. As the president of TPCC, he faced challenges and played a crucial role in drafting strategies for the Congress party to come to power. In 2021, Revanth Reddy took over as the state president of the Congress party from Uttam Kumar Reddy, who had served for a long time. Depressed by the defeat in the GHMC elections, the Congress suffered severe setbacks in the by-elections. Revanth Reddy, who took over the party’s responsibilities at that time, later brought the Congress party back on track.

Revanth’s Family Background

Anumula Revanth Reddy was born on August 8, 1969, in Konda Reddy village of Mahbubnagar district to the late Narasimha Reddy and Ramachandramma. Revanth Reddy has six brothers and one sister. Revanth Reddy, who studied in a government school till class 10, completed his intermediate at a private college. Later, he came to Hyderabad to pursue his degree. In 1992, he completed his degree (Fine Arts) from AV College, which is affiliated with Osmania. Revanth, who has had leadership qualities since childhood, was a student leader in his school days. He is a member of the ABVP Student Union. In 1992, Revanth Reddy married Geeta Reddy, daughter of senior Congress leader and former Union minister Jaipal Reddy’s brother. They have a daughter named Naimisha Reddy.

MLA From TDP

Revanth Reddy won as a ZPTC in 2006 and was elected MLC in 2007 as an independent candidate from Mahbubnagar in the joint Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council elections. Later, Revanth Reddy contested from Kodangal in the 2009 assembly election from Telugu Desam Party and won against senior Congress leader Ravulapalli Gurunath Reddy. He won as MLA for the second time in 2014. Revanth Reddy was the floor leader of TDLP between 2014-17. He resigned from TDP in October 2017 and joined the Congress party.

President Of TPCC

Revanth Reddy was appointed as the Working President of TPCC in 2018. After that, he contested Kodangal in the December 2018 assembly elections and lost. Immediately, he contested in the Lok Sabha elections held in May 2019 from Malkajigiri parliamentary constituency on behalf of the Congress and became an MP. Revanth Reddy was appointed as Telangana PCC President on June 26, 2021, by the National Congress Party. Revanth Reddy took oath as TPCP President on July 7, 2021, in the presence of Telangana State Congress Affairs In-charge Manickam Tagore.

MLA To Chief Minister

Revanth led the Congress party by including seniors and junior leaders and campaigned for the assembly elections in 2023. Pointing out the shortcomings of the BRS government, he went to the people and said that development is possible through Congress. Thus, the overwhelming victory of the Congress party. Now, Revanth Reddy is going to become the Chief Minister of Telangana.
