TS Assembly: Congress Government Announces Ban on Hookah Parlours

The Telangana assembly meetings are going on in full swing. The Congress government has taken another important decision in the assembly meetings. One such decision is the ban on hookah parlours in the state, introduced through the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Amendment Bill. Presented by IT Minister Sridhar Babu on behalf of CM Revanth Reddy, the bill passed unanimously without discussion.

Minister Sridhar Babu’s Initiative: “For the Future of Youth”

D Sridhar Babu addressed the House, highlighting the dangers of hookah and tobacco, especially for the youth. He emphasized that hookah is even more harmful than cigarette smoke. He said that CM Revanth Reddy who was concerned about the potential addiction to hookah among the youth, took this decision to safeguard their future. He warned of strict actions against hookah parlours and reiterated the government’s commitment to combating drug abuse statewide.
