TS Elections: Congress’s Changing Equations In Alliance With The Left

If the CPM state committee does not take a call on the seats offered by the Congress in Telangana by Sunday, there is a possibility that the Congress leadership will take a final decision on Monday. The alliance seems to have come to a conclusion on these lines. The Communist parties (CPI and CPM) will contest two seats each. Reportedly, Congress Promised CPM an additional MLC post as well. Leaders say that an official announcement on alliances will come in a day or two. While the Kothagudem seat has been given to CPI, Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao will contest from there. There is uncertainty over the second assembly seat. The Congress hopes to get one seat between the Chennur and Karwan seats.

Even though the candidate for the Karwan seat has already been announced, it is reported that the Congress leadership has decided to give it to the CPI as part of the alliance. The Congress leadership has already announced the name of Usman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri as the candidate for the Karwan Assembly seat in the first list of 55 candidates. Besides Miryalaguda and Malakpet, the proposal to give the post of MLC to CPM is being discussed. The Congress leadership announced the name of Shaik Akbar in the first list as the Congress candidate for the Malakpet seat as well. However, it seems that the proposal to allocate it to CPM as part of the alliance is being discussed. Julakanti Nagireddy will contest from Miryalaguda seat. In Karwan and Malakpet, it is reported that these two seats will be allotted to CPI and CPM. Let’s see which seats will be available for the Left parties.
