TS High Court Adjourns Hearing on Free Bus

The Telangana High Court conducted a hearing on the policy of providing free travel to women in TSRTC buses. Harinder from Nagole filed a public interest litigation in the High Court seeking the cancellation of GO 47, which is regarding providing free bus travel to women. The petitioner contended that offering free bus travel to women has resulted in significant overcrowding in the buses.

The petitioner mentioned that the situation has become so congested in buses that there isn’t even space to stand while traveling with family. Harinder requested the High Court to cancel the GO 47 that facilitates free travel. The High Court stated that there is no public interest involved in this petition. The petitioner stated that he filed the petition due to personal inconvenience. Subsequently, the hearing was adjourned.
