TS Minister Komatireddy: ‘AP Should Be Given Special Status’

Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has clarified that the special status promised to the divided Andhra Pradesh during the bifurcation of the state should be given. It was announced that Telangana would support AP for special status. He said that the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi insisted on special status for AP. He made key comments at a press conference organized in New Delhi.

“The special status for AP is a decision made by Manmohan and Sonia Gandhi. The promise given in the Parliament to support AP is a special status. Sadly, the promise made during the partition has not been implemented. I will do my best to get special status for AP.” Komatireddy said that the current prime minister should implement the decision taken by the previous prime minister.

Talking about Telangana Bhavan in Delhi, he said, ‘We will build Telangana Bhavan in Delhi soon. We will place the issue of building construction before the CM. We will construct a suitable building for Telangana public representatives and officials. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is going to meet Union Ministers and consult them on the issues of Telangana state. It is reported that Komati Reddy, who met Nitin Gadkari on Monday, will meet with other ministers and officials in two days.
