TSRTC faces phenomenal rise in passengers: New Buses in focus

With free travel for women in Telangana, bus traffic has increased significantly. Due to this, the passengers have to face difficulties due to the lack of buses. RTC MD Sajjanar said that 200 new buses are being made available by the coming Sankranti festival in view of the rush of passengers. He said that 50 of these buses will be started within a week. Sajjanar along with CEO Ravinder and ED Krishnakanth inspected the new Rajdhani and Super Luxury buses at Bus Bhavan on Friday. He said that these buses are made with the latest technology.

The authorities were directed to make the buses available as soon as possible as the passenger traffic has increased due to the free bus facility implemented for women under the Mahalakshmi scheme. Sajjanar said that a total of 2,000 more new buses will come in the next 5 months. He said that they also include Pallevelugu, Express, Rajdhani and Hyderabad City buses.

On the other hand, RTC MD Sajjanar has issued orders increasing the salary of RTC drivers and conductors who are doing double duty. In the Greater Hyderabad zone, regular drivers used to be paid Rs 740 earlier, but now it has been increased to Rs 900 from Rs 700 for conductors. Similar raises have been given by RTC in other districts as well. They raised the double duty bonus of drivers from Rs 600 to Rs 730 and conductors from Rs 530 to Rs 650. The amounts for contract drivers and conductors have also been increased.
