According to the latest orders, women will receive a 33.3 per cent reservation not only in the OC Category but also across various quotas such as EWS, SC, ST, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, persons with disabilities, ex-servicemen, and sports persons, through a horizontal system. They mentioned that the horizontal system was followed in the recent appointments of staff nurses, constables, sub-inspectors, and Gurukul teachers, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s orders. Until now, job appointments were made using the vertical system, where certain posts in the list were specifically marked for women. Going forward, they said, without any such markings, a 33.3 per cent reservation will be implemented across the board.
