Wine shops: Wine shops are closed for 3 days in Telangana

Wine shops in Telangana will be closed for three days in the wake of assembly elections. The Election Commission has issued orders to close liquor shops. Liquor shops will be closed from 28th to 30th of this month. It has warned that strict action will be taken against liquor shops that violate the order. The police have been instructed to keep vigil on the illegal liquor traffic.

EC is taking precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents and distribution of liquor as the assembly election polling is going on on the 30th of this month. Wines have decided to close the shops in this order. EC ordered to close all liquor shops from 5 pm on the 28th to 5 pm on the 30th of this month. It has warned that strict action will be taken against those who violate the orders. EC has identified 1,279 liquor shops in Hyderabad as problematic in the wake of the elections. They ordered the police to set up surveillance there. Meanwhile, liquor and drugs worth more than Rs. 115 crores were seized during the checks carried out during the elections.
