10-Year-Old Dies While Doing Punishment Sit-Ups In Odisha School

A little boy was subjected to corporal punishment at school. The teacher punished the student who was playing games without attending class. The student collapsed while doing sit-ups. This incident took place in Jajpur district of Odisha. The details are as follows.

Suryanarayan Nodal Upper Primary School is located near Orali village. Rudra Narayan Sethi (10) is studying in the fourth standard in this school. Rudra was playing with his fellow students on the field instead of attending classes on Tuesday. The teacher got angry and told them all to do sit-ups. While the five students were doing sit-ups, Rudra Narayan Sethi suddenly collapsed. The panicked teachers immediately rushed him to the nearby government hospital. After first aid, he was shifted to the Cuttack hospital.

In the Cuttack hospital, he was declared brought dead. This incident created a sad atmosphere in the school. The family members of the boy expressed anger against the school management. Doctors said that the boy was tired after playing for a long time.
