Ayodhya Airport to be renamed: Union Cabinet approves

The Union Cabinet has approved naming the Ayodhya Airport after Maharshi Valmiki. The decision was taken in the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi on Friday. Also, the airport will be declared as an international airport. PM Modi inaugurated this airport on December 30 last year.

“Ayodhya Airport has been named ‘Maharshi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham’ as a tribute to the sage. It got cultural recognition in the name of that great man. It is also in line with the city’s historical significance,” the government said. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted that the Ayodhya region will develop economically with the International Airport.
