COVID-19 Cases on the Rise Again in India

In India, coronavirus-positive cases are on the rise again. In the last 24 hours, 133 COVID cases have been reported. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported on Wednesday that the current count of active COVID-19 cases in India stands at 1,389. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare disclosed the latest COVID-19 case details at 8 AM this morning. In the past 24 hours, one person in Gujarat and Maharashtra passed away due to COVID-19, as revealed by the report. The central health ministry has advised all state governments to stay vigilant in response to the situation.

In India, the rise in COVID-19 cases is attributed to the new variant, winter season, and current climatic conditions. Officials have disclosed from the currently available data that the JN.1 variant is showing a significant increase in the new COVID-19 cases. Since the start of COVID-19, over 4.5 crore individuals in India have been infected, and the death toll has exceeded 5.3 lakh. The number of people who have recovered from the disease in India exceeds 4.4 crore. So far, 220.67 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country.
