Discount on Traffic Challans: How much did Telangana Govt make?

Traffic pending challans get huge responses from motorists. While there are 3.59 crore pending challans across the state so far, a huge discount has been announced on those till December 25 last year. Discounts of 80 percent on pending challans on bikes and autos, 90 percent on RTC buses and 60 percent on cars and heavy vehicles were given. Motorists are using the opportunity to clear pending challans on their vehicles.

With this, Rs 66.77 crore of payments were made in respect of 76.79 lakh challans across the state in a period of 11 days from December 26, 2023, police said. While Rs 17 crore of payments were made in Hyderabad Commissionerate, Rs 13.99 crore were paid in Cyberabad Commissionerate and Rs 7.17 crore were paid in Rachakonda Commissionerate. Officials said that this opportunity is available for another five days (till January 10). They requested vehicle owners to take advantage of this. They explained that payments are accepted through Meeseva, Paytm, T Wallet and Netbanking.
