American Doctors Shocked: House Fly In Missouri Man’s Colon

Doctors were shocked to see a fly in the colon of a 63-year-old man who went to the hospital for a regular checkup. The incident took place in Missouri, America. Doctors examined an old man who went for a colonoscopy. During the colonoscopy procedure, a flexible tube with a camera and light is attached to the colon and examined. In this process, they were surprised to see a dead but intact fly in one place. The patient stated that he had taken only liquid food and had pizza and lettuce for lunch before the medical tests as prescribed by the doctors. But he said he did not remember when he swallowed a fly.

According to the American Journal of Gastroenterology, there have been rare cases in the past where the insects remained intact in the digestive tract and the larvae lodged in the gastrointestinal tract, causing intestinal myosis. This is the first time that an undigested fly has been found in the intestines, although there have been cases where parasites like pinworms, seatworms and threadworms have affected the intestines. All the theories about how it got inside have been wrong, and how it got there remains a challenge for scientists.
