Farmer Faces Humiliation in Bengaluru Metro, Incident Video Goes Viral

A farmer, dressed in soiled clothes, was not allowed to board the metro train by a security officer. This incident recently came to light in Bengaluru. A passenger posted about this incident on social media on the 24th of this month, which occurred on the 18th. The farmer, carrying a bundle of clothes on his head, came to the Rajaji Metro Station with a metro ticket in his possession. However, at the security checkpoint, the staff stopped him.

A security officer informed him that he was not allowed to travel in the metro wearing soiled clothes. Another passenger present there supported the farmer, stating that there was no security issue with the farmer, and according to the metro rules, his bundle of clothes was allowed on the train. He also asked to be shown any dress code specifying what passengers should wear to board the metro. Following this, the security staff allowed the farmer to enter the metro.

On the other hand, the incident’s related video went viral on the internet, causing a stir. Netizens criticized metro authorities, questioning if the metro was only for VIPs and not for the common people. Responding to the incident, metro officials took action against the security officer involved. The officials expressed regret over the incident, stating that there is no discrimination in the metro service.
