ISRO Prepares for Next Mars Mission with Robotic Rotorcraft

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), renowned for captivating global attention with the launch of the ‘Mangalyaan’ satellite for Mars exploration, is now gearing up for yet another groundbreaking mission. After nearly a decade of operation, the services of Mangalyaan concluded in 2022. In this context, ISRO is now contemplating sending a robot to Mars.

The Ingenuity helicopter sent by NASA, the American space research organization, recently successfully completed three years. In this context, ISRO has decided to send a rotorcraft now. It is still in the concept stage. It will carry sensors for temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, electric field, trace gases, and dust.
