Mumbai Surpasses Beijing as Asia’s Billionaire Capital for the First Time

Mumbai, known as the financial hub of India, has attained another significant milestone. It now stands as the third city in Asia with the highest number of wealthy individuals. This achievement comes as Beijing, the capital of China, was surpassed in the rankings. The latest report by Hurun Global Rich reveals this notable development. Topping the list is New York with 119 individuals, followed closely by London with 97.

Hurun has unveiled its latest list of cities housing the wealthiest individuals globally for the year 2024. Mumbai boasts an impressive count of 92 billionaires, marking its prominence on the list. However, when considering countries, China takes the lead with the highest number of billionaires. Despite 155 millionaires experiencing a decline in wealth over the past year, China maintains its top position with 814 billionaires.
