Passenger Attacks Indigo’s Co-Pilot Over Flight Delay Announcement

A passenger assaulted a flight co-pilot, Co-Pilot Anoop Kumar, in response to the announcement of a flight delay on Indigo flight (6E2175) from Delhi to Goa. The attack occurred when Kumar explained the unfavorable weather conditions, causing the delay due to severe cold and fog. Sahil Kataria, the disgruntled passenger, physically attacked the co-pilot, prompting immediate intervention by fellow staff members.

After the assault, Kataria continued to lash out at the flight crew, creating chaos on the plane. The incident led to Kataria’s arrest by the police, with charges filed against him. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia condemned the unruly behavior, emphasizing that attacking staff members due to flight delays is unacceptable. Indigo is seeking to include Kataria in their no-fly list, and a viral video captured the incident.
