South Central Railway’s Big Relief for Passengers

South Central Railway has made a significant decision to introduce digital payment options at ticket counters in major railway stations across the zone. From now on, railway travelers have the option to pay for their tickets using POS (Point of Sale) and UPI (Unified Payments Interface). These options are now available at Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) counters in all significant non-suburban and suburban category stations within the zone.

Arun Kumar Jain, the General Manager of South Central Railway, mentioned that they have introduced cashless procedures for ticket purchases to enhance digital facilities in the railways. He mentioned that this policy aims to save time for railway passengers. The hope is not just to address retail challenges but also to increase the number of passengers. At present, individuals use Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm for UPI payments. Authorities believe that the Railway Department’s decision will be beneficial for everyone.
