Telangana Experiences Rains Across Different Regions, Brings Cooler Climate

The Meteorological Department has forecasted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in various districts across the state for the next four days. A yellow alert has been issued for half of the districts in this regard. Due to the rains, temperatures have also begun to drop. The weather started cooling down from Monday evening throughout the state. Gusts of wind blew across almost all districts. While temperatures in many places reached up to 45 degrees Celsius until the day before yesterday, they dropped below 40 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

In Mahabubnagar district’s Vaddeman, a maximum temperature of 40.9 degrees Celsius was recorded. In Wanaparthy district, the temperature reached 40.7, in Khammam 40.4, in Gadwal 40.2, in Nalgonda district 40.1, and in Kothagudem 40 degrees Celsius. In all other districts, temperatures were recorded below 40 degrees Celsius. Due to the impact of the rains, there is a possibility that temperatures will decrease further over the next four days, according to meteorological department officials. On Tuesday, hailstorms occurred in several places in Nizamabad district.

Crops across the state have reached the harvesting stage. Farmers are anxious due to the weather department’s warnings of rain. With the possibility of rain for four days, farmers are advised by the weather department officials to make necessary arrangements. Ten per cent of the grain has reached the procurement centres. The rest of the crop is still in the harvesting stage in the fields. Against this backdrop, officials are advising to arrange tarpaulins to protect the grain. Farmers are requesting the government to provide tarpaulins to keep the grain that has been moved to markets and procurement centres dry.
