PM Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Death Anniversary (11 January 1966)

Today is the death anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, the leader who raised the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan’ and the second Prime Minister of the country. Shastri served as the Prime Minister of the country from 9 June 1964 to 11 January 1966. During the war against Pakistan, he took measures to avoid any impact on the country. Shastri died suddenly in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, the day after the end of the war with Pakistan. There are still many doubts about his death.

Election of Sanjeevaiah (11 January 1960) as the first Dalit Chief Minister

Damodaram Sanjeevaiah was elected as the first Dalit Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh. Due to some reasons, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, who was the CM, stepped down, and Sanjeevaiah took his place. From 11 January 1960 to 29 March 1962, Sanjivaiah continued in the CM’s chair. Sanjeevayya, who continued as a state, central minister and CM, earned a name for his integrity but could not acquire property.

Birthday of Rahul Dravid (11 January 1973)

Today is the birthday of the legendary Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid who is one of the best cricketers in the world. Born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, ‘The Wall’ made his debut as a Ranji player in 1991. He made his Test cricket debut in 1996 and performed brilliantly for India. Dravid is currently working as the head coach of the Indian team. Dravid holds some rare records in the history of cricket.

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day (11 January 2007)

Human trafficking is a serious threat to the world. Since 2007, January 11 has been observed as the ‘National Anti-Human Trafficking Day’ to continuously create awareness about this issue. On this day, programs are organized to raise awareness about the plight of victims of human trafficking and promote and protect their rights.
