1977 Pakistani Military Coup

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the democratically elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, was overthrown in a military coup on July 5, 1977. Bhutto was arrested and later executed in 1979 by the military regime led by General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.
