Launch of Bhaskara-1

India’s first experimental remote sensing satellite, Bhaskara-1, was launched into space in 1979 from the Kapustin Yar launch site in Volgograd, Russia, using the C-1 Intercosmos satellite launch vehicle.

Mahatma Gandhi’s First Act of Civil Disobedience

On June 7, 1893, Mahatma Gandhi engaged in his first act of civil disobedience in South Africa. He boarded a first-class train compartment but was asked to leave due to his race. Gandhi’s refusal to comply marked the beginning of his lifelong struggle for civil rights.

BD Jatti Passes Away
