Tragic Collision in Assam Claims 12 Lives: Bus and Truck Accident in Golaghat

A fatal road accident occurred in Assam, claiming the lives of 12 people when a passenger bus collided with an oncoming truck in Dergaon town of Golaghat district. Over 25 individuals suffered severe injuries, with many in critical condition. Golaghat Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh stated that the accident took place as a bus carrying 45 passengers collided with a goods vehicle and the preliminary investigations suggest that fog may have played a role.

Upon receiving the information, the police promptly reached the scene, transporting the injured to Dergaon Civil Hospital. Those with severe injuries were shifted to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital. The drivers of both vehicles succumbed to their injuries at the accident site. Authorities have initiated a case and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
