If Pakisthan Comes To Semi-Final….Where Is The Venue?
Pakistan is trying hard for a semis berth in the World Cup. If it reaches the semis, the team will play with India. It has already been confirmed that the South African and Australian teams will play a semi-final match. In this background, if Pakistan reaches the semis, they will have to play against India, who are at the top. If that happens, the venue of the match will change in the World Cup.
According to the schedule, the first semi-final match against India is to be played in Mumbai. However, for security reasons, PCB has requested BCCI not to organize Pakistan matches in Mumbai. With this, ICC and BCCI respected Pakistan’s request and clarified that if Pakistan makes it to the semis, they will not play the semi-final in Mumbai. The semi-final match between Pakistan and India will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Then, another semi-final between South Africa and Australia will be held in Mumbai.
The first semi-final will be played at Wankhede, Mumbai, on November 15. The second semi-final match will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on November 16. In the semi-final match, the top team will play against the fourth-placed team. Similarly, the second and third-placed teams will face each other in the second semi-final. Currently, India is in first place, and Australia and South Africa teams are in second and third place, respectively. Pakistan, New Zealand, and Afghanistan teams are competing for fourth place, who will play with India.
