Going into details, Indians living in various states in America are rushing to the stores there to stick up rice. There are long queues in front of the Indian stores in the country. Local Americans are shocked to see the craze among Indians for rice bags. In a big move to bring down the rice prices in the country, the government announced a ban on white rice exports. However, the ban applies to non-basmati rice. It is said that the same rice is the most consumed rice type in households. Those who eat rice eat non-Basmati. Basmati is used to make Biryanis.

Though there is no clarity on what impact the ban on rice would have on the prices, there is said to be a scarcity of rice bags. Seeing this, Indians are flocking to the stores to stock up on as many rice bags as possible. The same is the case with the US, Canada, and other countries. While the whole Indian community is worried about this, the Telugu community in particular is said to be in a big panic. It is said that the prices of rice bags have increased in a few states and there are long queues in front of the shops. Seeing the rush, the stores are reportedly giving just one rice bag per person. The decision left a big impact on the global market as India is the biggest exporter of rice in the world. India holds a big share in exports. With India deciding to impose a ban on this, there was a big impact on the global market and there is a big panic among Indians abroad.
