Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura States’ Formation Day

Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura states celebrate their Formation Day on January 21. In 1972, the three states were formed into full-fledged states under the North-Eastern Region (Reorganization) Act, 1971. People of the three states celebrate various events and festivals related to their culture and traditions on this day.

E. V. V. Satyanarayana’s Death Anniversary

Eedara Veera Venkata Satyanarayana was a Telugu film director. EVV was born on 10 June 1958 and died on 21 January 2011. E.V.V. mostly directed comedy films. His notable films are Aa Okkati Adakku, Appula Apparao, Jamba Lakidi Pamba, Evandi Aavida Vachindi, Aame, Tali and Hello Brother. Aryan Rajesh and Allari Naresh are his sons.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s Birth Anniversary

Rajput made his silver screen debut with the 2013 film Kai Po Che. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Kedarnath released in 2018 and Chichore released in 2019 got him good recognition. He was born on 21 January 1986 and on 14 June 2020, at the age of 34, Rajput committed suicide at his home in Bandra, Mumbai.

Vladimir Lenin’s Death Anniversary

Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, better known as Vladimir Lenin, was a Russian revolutionary, politician and political theorist. Today is the day he died. He was the founder of the Soviet Union. He was the head of Soviet Russia from 1917 to 1924.

World Religion Day

World Religion Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of January, every year. This year, it falls on January 21. Its main objective is to unite people of all religions for one day in a year, forgetting their differences. World Religion Day was first observed in 1950.
