Dhanush to Star as the Lead in Ilaiyaraaja Biopic

Renowned music director Indian Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic has been in the news for the past few days. Recently, an official announcement about this project has been made. Dhanush will be starring as the hero in this film based on the life story of Ilaiyaraaja. The movie will be directed by Arun Matheswaran, known for ‘Captain Miller’.

The makers are preparing to start shooting in 2024 and aim to release the movie in theatres in 2025. On this occasion, Dhanush shared the motion poster of Ilaiyaraaja on the X platform. In this poster, one can see the character of Ilaiyaraaja who came to the city of Madras aspiring to become a music director.

Ilaiyaraaja, who has been thrilling cinema audiences and listeners with his music for 47 years, has composed music for over 1400 films, contributing to more than 7000 songs. He has received numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards from the Government of India. He is currently serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
