TSNAB Issues Notice to Sai Dharam Tej Movie: Over Film Title “Ganja Shankar”

‘Ganja Shankar’ starring Sai Dharam Tej has sparked controversy over its title. The Narcotics Bureau has expressed its displeasure over the title ‘Ganja Shankar’. The Bureau suggested removing the word ‘Ganja’ from the movie title. The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) police issued notices to the film unit stating that the movie title must be changed.

The notices mentioned that the movie announcement video promotes the use of marijuana. ‘Ganja Shankar’ portrays the hero as a young man selling marijuana, raising concerns that such scenes could attract students and youth. Therefore, they advised the film unit to immediately change the movie title. They also ordered to modify the movie title video as it could influence the youth.

They warned that if the movie contains dangerous scenes related to narcotics, actions will be taken according to the NDPS-1985 law. The notices stated that cinema artists and other celebrities should act with social responsibility. They instructed to remove scenes that encourage marijuana and drugs in movies and ordered that under no circumstances should marijuana and drugs be shown in films.

Director Sampath Nandi is helming this film, known for his mass entertainers. The movie, recently announced officially, is currently undergoing its shooting phase. The film, jointly produced by Sitara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, features Sreeleela as the heroine, according to sources. Bheems Cecilio is composing the music for this movie which will be released soon.
