AP Govt’s Focus On Power Generation: Quality Electricity To Every Region

CM Jagan has made a key decision to overcome the electricity demand in the state. He focused on strengthening the power sector so that quality power can be continuously supplied in the future. As part of this, for the first time in the history of the state’s electricity sector, AP Transco has launched 28 substations simultaneously. To this extent, foundation stone laying for 16 substations and inauguration ceremonies for 12 substations were done in virtual mode at the Tadepalli camp office.

Substations Dedicated To Locals

CM Jagan announced that the government’s aim is to provide quality electricity to every region. The CM announced that the difficulties of those who are suffering from electricity substations will be over and 12 newly opened substations are being dedicated to the local people. CM Jagan said that it had decided to give 9 hours of electricity to the farmers during the day when he came to power and the electricity distribution system is being strengthened in 14 districts. He said that during a recent visit to Chinturu, Vararamachandrapuram, Etapaka and other areas inundated by Godavari, there were problems due to lack of substations. He said that substations have been started to solve this problem. They said that they are providing quality electricity to the farmers by setting up feeders with Rs.1700 crores and have signed an agreement with the SEC at a unit price of Rs.2.4 per unit to provide free electricity consistently. Free electricity is being given to the farmers for another 25 years without any problems.

Job Opportunities

CM Jagan said that they are spending about Rs.3,099 crores for substations. He disclosed that they are spending Rs. 3,400 crores to start 850 megawatts of solar power, and investing a total of Rs. 6,500 crore. He said that 200 people will be employed in 28 sub-stations and 1,700 jobs will be created with the 850 MW solar project. Similarly, he said that they are making an agreement with HPCL for an investment of Rs.10 thousand crores. While they are setting up solar, wind, PSP and green hydrogen projects, job opportunities will be available for around 1500 people.
