CM Jagan Consoles Train Accident Victims, Announces Rs.10 Lakhs Ex Gratia

A fatal train accident took place in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. A passenger train collided with another stationary passenger train between Kantakapalli and Alamanda in Kothavalasa mandal yesterday at 7 pm. After that, it also hit the goods train on the track beside it. Officials announced that 14 people died and more than 54 people were injured as three bogies were crushed in this accident. Railway officials have revealed that they are providing quality treatment to the injured.

CM Jagan Reaches Vizianagaram

CM YS Jagan who expressed shock upon learning about the train accident, reached Vizianagaram. To this extent, he visited the injured who were being treated in the hospital there. After examining the photos of the accident, the CM inquired about the details of the accident from the officials. Other government departments including medical health, police and revenue have been briefed. They were ordered to take quick-relief measures in coordination and ensure that quality medical services are provided to the injured. The details regarding this incident are being reported to him from time to time. Also, on the instructions of CM Jagan, Minister Botsa reached the scene and supervised the relief efforts.

Announcement Of Rs.10 lakhs To The Victims

The state government has announced financial assistance to the families of the victims from AP who died in the train accident. CM Jagan announced a compensation of Rs.10 lakhs to the families of the deceased and Rs.2 lakhs to those seriously injured. Also, the authorities were ordered to give Rs.2 lakhs in case of death of victims from other states and Rs.50,000 to those seriously injured.
