CM Jagan Releases ‘Jagananna Vidya Deevena’ Funds Today

The YSRCP government is implementing the prestigious scheme ‘Jagananna Vidya Deevena’ with the aim of enabling poor students to pursue higher education. For the quarter of October-December 2023, a total of 9.44 lakh students’ parents’ accounts are set to receive a sum of ₹708.68 crores. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy will be initiating the transfer of funds into the beneficiaries’ accounts during an event to be held in Pamarru, Krishna district.

As part of this scheme, ITI students are being provided with ₹10,000, polytechnic students with ₹15,000, and those pursuing degree, engineering, medicine, and other such courses are being given ₹20,000 each in two instalments by the government. Since the introduction of this scheme, the government has reported that a total of ₹72,919 crores have been deposited into the beneficiaries’ accounts. It is noteworthy that this scheme is applicable to all the children in a family, regardless of the number of children. Additionally, to ensure students do not face difficulties with food and accommodation expenses, the government is also implementing the ‘Jagananna Vasathi Deevena’ scheme.
