TDP-Janasena Alliance: Janasena in Trouble?

The Janasena party suffered a significant defeat in the Telangana assembly elections. Jana Sena candidates lost deposits in all the seats contested with BJP in this election. Even though the party leader Pawan Kalyan campaigned, the voters of Telangana did not support the party even to the minimum level. However, not many votes were cast in Kukatpally, Khammam and other places. On the other hand, with TDP withdrawing from the contest, the leaders of that party were expected to declare their full support to the Janasena, but the Janasena was disappointed. It seems that the Janasena Party did not get votes in any of the TDP votes in the eight constituencies.

Pawan’s Support To TDP

In addition to Kukatpally, Khammam, Kothagudem, Wyra, Aswaraopeta and other constituencies, the Jana Sena did not get the votes of the Andhra settlers. It could get only a few thousand votes in total. But earlier, Pawan Kalyan was the only leader who openly supported TDP when former CM Chandrababu Naidu was in Rajahmundry jail. Even when the TDP leadership and cadre were in flux, he gave life to the TDP party. However, in the recently held elections, the TDP leaders did not support the candidates whom the Janasena Party strengthened.

Ungrateful TDP leaders

Looking at the votes of Janasena candidates, it seems that TDP did not help Pawan Kalyan in any constituency. In these constituencies, the TDP leaders and the Kamma community have not shown any gratitude to the Janasena. But even though TDP claims that Janasena is in alliance with the BJP, Janasena has given full support to TDP chief Chandrababu, who is in jail without thinking about it. Political analysts say that it would have been better if the TDP leaders had at least given their support in this matter. Jana Sena candidates who thought that TDP would support them in Telangana because of the alliance in AP are left disappointed. Why didn’t Pawan Kalyan ask Chandrababu in this matter? Pawan, who is already facing severe criticism, acting one way in Telangana and another way in AP remains an elusive question for anyone.

Janasena’s Future In AP

The TDP and Janasena parties are going to contest together in the upcoming general elections in AP. However, there is no clarity as to how the Janasena will go towards the TDP instead of staying with the BJP. If TDP and Jana Sena contest together, will TDP leaders support the seats where Jana Sena will contest? Even in the constituency where there are more TDP voters in Telangana, Jana Sena deposits have gone missing. So, it seems that the same trend will be repeated in Andhra as well. TDP candidates are feeling disappointed that they will have to lose their seats in the alliance with Jana Sena. It is reported that many TDP candidates think that they are bearing the TDP flag in the hope of getting a seat; they are expressing their disappointment that they might need to sacrifice their seat to Janasena. In this context, political analysts believe that Janasena would not have any future in the state due to these consequences.
