‘Chittoor’ as a pilot project

As part of the ‘Palle Nidra’ programme, the government will first collect village-wise data. After that, Grama Sabhas will be held in one village per day to create awareness among the people and identify anti-social forces to provide counselling to them. Meanwhile, the villages are already being identified based on police stations for rural sleepovers under ‘Palle Nidra’. However, for this purpose, the Palle Nidra program will be undertaken as a pilot project in the Chittoor district first, before the rest of the state. Data in a special app.

The police will take steps to be vigilant about the movement of suspicious persons in the village. The police will also keep a close eye on non-locals besides keeping a special vigil on those who have been released from jail. The district-wise list of problem villages will be sent to the government after the collection of data by the police. All this data collected in different categories will be entered into a special app. This data will be available in Police Stations ranging from the local PS to the district SP office. This will make it easier to take early action if any problems occur.
