Political Dynamics: TDP Seeks Reciprocal Support from Congress in AP Elections

Facing challenges, the Telugu Desam Party is formulating additional strategies in its pursuit of power despite its alliance with Janasena. In a significant turn of events, the TDP, having previously supported the Congress in Telangana, is now seeking a similar favour from the Congress in the upcoming AP elections. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu met senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar, and this collaboration has sparked discussions. Their meeting in Bangalore involved a brief exchange of greetings, followed by a private conversation between Chandrababu and DK Shivakumar. Chandrababu conveyed his thoughts in a concise discussion that lasted about a minute.

DK Sivakumar, a key figure in securing Congress’s power in Karnataka and currently serving as Deputy Chief Minister, has been influential in the Telangana assembly elections as well. Chandrababu Naidu seeks his assistance, known for his troubleshooter role. Reports suggest cooperation between the Congress party in Karnataka and the TDP meeting in Banglore as Chandrababu strategizes to regain power in Andhra Pradesh.

TDP declared alliances with Janasena and outreach to the BJP; Chandrababu is exploring options with Congress to strengthen his position for the 2024 elections.
