TDP tickets only for the rich: Chandrababu once again shows his inclination for money in politics

TDP chief Chandrababu has redefined politics, equating democracy with wealth. He allocated MP and MLA tickets to the affluent, suggesting that politics is exclusively for the rich. This notion became evident upon reviewing the three lists released by TDP thus far. The latest list, unveiled yesterday, further underscores this trend. As per the plan, wealthy real estate businessman Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) secured the Vijayawada MP seat, while NRI Pemmasani Chandrasekhar was allotted the Guntur MP seat.

TDP ticket to Krishna Prasad but not Devineni

Chandrababu exhibited money politics in the selection of candidates for the Penamaluru and Mylavaram constituencies. The finalized candidates for these positions are Bode Prasad and Vasantha Krishna Prasad. Despite strong competition from defector MLA Krishna Prasad, former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, and Bommasani Subbarao for the Mylavaram seat, it is reported that Krishna Prasad, who recently joined TDP, secured it through financial means rather than the senior leadership of Devineni Uma.

Moreover, Narasaraopet and Nellore seats have also become entangled with defector leaders, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu and Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, both of whom possess significant financial resources. This situation sheds light on Chandrababu’s tactics of engaging in ‘money’ politics. He appears determined to secure victory in this election by any means necessary, employing a strategy that involves distributing substantial sums of money to seize power.
