BJP Receives a Shock as ECI Gets Serious About ‘Viksit Bharat’ Messages

The BJP government received a major setback as the Election Commission directed them to halt the Modi Vikasit Bharat campaign on WhatsApp and social media. The EC’s order comes after the election schedule was announced, and the government’s promotion of Vikasit Bharat through WhatsApp was deemed a serious violation of election rules. The central government was instructed to cease the WhatsApp campaign without delay.

The Central Government has been sending messages via WhatsApp under the name of Vikasit Bharat, creating a Vikasit Bharat Group on all phones. This campaign has been ongoing for a week, reaching every citizen in the country. Following numerous complaints from various parties, the Election Commission conducted an investigation and confirmed the allegations. In response, on Thursday, the Election Commission expressed its displeasure toward the central government and ordered the immediate cessation of the program.
