EC Provides Clarity on Rumours: Parliament Elections Scheduled for April?

The electoral atmosphere in India seems to be heating up again. There are chances that elections might take place in April. The Election Commission of India has not yet announced the election dates. The Election Commission has denied the false news that the election code would come into effect in February. The EC mentioned that a piece of news related to the Lok Sabha elections is circulating on social media. The EC addressed rumors spreading on social media that the election code would be implemented on February 16, tickets would be distributed by March 16, and the final elections would take place on April 16. It stated that the message was fake and the Election Commission had not yet announced any dates.

There are a maximum of 125 days left for the nationwide Lok Sabha elections. Political parties are getting ready for the Lok Sabha elections, even though the dates haven’t been announced yet. The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win more than 400 seats. The INDIA alliance is ready to oppose the BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his government is not far from coming to power for the third time. He stated that the NDA alliance has the chance to win more than 400 seats.
