‘Lord Ram was non-vegetarian’: NCP Leader sparks controversy

NCP leader Jitendra Awhad, who belongs to Sharad Pawar’s faction, made sensational comments. He asked how Lord Rama, who was in the forest for 14 years, was a vegetarian in the forest. He commented that Rama is a Bahujan leader, not a vegetarian, he is a carnivore and a hunter. Jitendra’s comments have become controversial at a time when the Ram Mandir opening ceremony is going to be held in Ayodhya in a few days.

Jitendra argued Rama was from their community and he used to hunt animals for food, therefore, he was never a vegetarian, but a carnivore. He questioned how a man in the forest could live without eating meat.

Reacting to these controversial comments, the BJP accused that he has disrespected the emotions of crores of Lord Rama devotees. The party demanded that an FIR be registered against Jitendra for saying that Rama is a non-vegetarian. BJP leader Ram Kadam lashed out at former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray for remaining silent despite all this happening. Kadam said that Uddhav Thackeray does not care about Hindus and Marathi people, they are only interested in doing dirty politics for votes. He said that if Bala Saheb Thackeray was alive at this time, he would have condemned Awhad’s remarks.
