Mizoram Results Shock Congress And BJP: CM And Deputy Lose

BJP and Congress parties got a big shock in Mizoram, where the counting of votes was done a day late. There, the people crowned the local party. The Zoram People’s Movement Party (ZPM) won a clear majority. A regional party will form the government without the help of others. Due to this, both the national parties were deeply disappointed.

Assembly Elections were held in five states including Telangana and Mizoram. While the results of four states were announced on Sunday, the counting of votes was taken up in Mizoram on Monday as per the request of the local people. In Mizoram, which has 40 seats, 21 seats are needed to form the government. According to the latest information, the ZPM Party (Zoram People’s Movement) has won 25 seats. The ruling MNF party won only 8 seats. Earlier Congress won five seats and the BJP one seat, but this time while the BJP won 2 seats the Congress managed one.

Reversed Results
The ruling MNF party (Mizo National Front) faced a major defeat. Zoramthanga, the party’s president and chief minister, was defeated. He contested from Aizwal East-1 Assembly Constituency and was defeated by ZPM Party candidate Laltan Singha. He was defeated by a margin of 2,100 votes. Along with Deputy Chief Minister Tawnluia, many ministers also suffered defeat.

Lalduhoma, president of the Zoram People’s Movement Party, who has won unexpected results, will be elected as the Chief Minister of that state. He won as MLA from the Serchhip constituency. ZPM party ranks are celebrating with these results.
