Modi’s First Kashmir Visit Post-Article 370, Marks Development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir today. This visit is significant as it marks Modi’s first visit to Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. Modi will attend the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ event at the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. Additionally, in this Union Territory, Modi is expected to launch projects worth nearly Rs. 5,000 crores aimed at the development of agriculture and the economic system. Furthermore, with the Lok Sabha elections approaching, this visit presents an opportunity for Prime Minister Modi to bestow benefits upon the people of Kashmir, according to political analysts.

Following the abrogation of Article 370, the NDA government at the Centre has focused on the development of Kashmir. As part of this initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch tourism-related projects worth Rs. 1,400 crores under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASAD schemes at the Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar. Concurrently, Modi will distribute appointment letters to nearly 1,000 newly recruited government employees in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, plans are underway to establish 2,000 farmer service centres across the region.
