Monkey Fever: Health Authorities on High Alert in Karnataka

The increase in monkey fever cases in Karnataka is causing concern, as another person has died from the disease. A 60-year-old woman from Kurlakai village in Siddapur taluka, Uttara Karnataka district, battled monkey fever for 20 days before succumbing to it. This brings the total number of deaths from the disease in Karnataka to four.

Against this backdrop, people in the state are expressing great concern about the rising cases of monkey fever. The number of cases has surpassed 100, prompting the state government to take action. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao recently met with medical department officials to discuss the situation. The Karnataka government is also in communication with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to address the issue. Efforts are underway to enhance vaccination efforts and control the spread of the disease more effectively.
