Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, BJP Supporters Attack

Tension has gripped Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra as it reaches Sonitpur in Assam. During the procession, BJP workers obstructed the bus, leading to a clash between BJP and Congress supporters and creating a highly charged atmosphere. Law enforcement swiftly intervened, dispersing the conflicting groups. Senior Congress leader Jai Ram Ramesh responded to the incident, accusing BJP workers of attacking his vehicle. Jairam Ramesh alleged that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was responsible for the altercation.

According to Ramesh, a BJP crowd targeted his vehicle at Jamugurihat in Sonitpur, tearing off Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra stickers from the windshield. He claimed that the BJP supporters expressed their anger by throwing water and shouting slogans. However, he noted that despite the provocation, they exhibited restraint, waving and moving forward swiftly.
